The Tall Blacks coach Paul Henare has named his 12 strong squad to play Australia in the Oceania Olympic qualifying series starting in Melbourne next week.

Henare has had 14 players with him in camp in New Zealand, on tour through Great Britain, Europe and now China but has dropped Leon Henry and Deon Prewster ahead of the home and away series that will decide who goes to the Rio Olympic Games.

"It is not that these two players have done anything wrong, it is just that there are others who have done that little bit more, and offer us what we believe we will need over the next ten days or so against Australia," said Cameron.

After the China tour the 12 strong squad will have a three day camp in New Zealand ahead of the trip to Melbourne to play Australia on August 15th before returning for the home leg in Wellington on August 18.

The Tall Blacks for the Oceania Series:

Tom Abercrombie, Duane Bailey, Everard Bartlett, Isaac Fotu, Shea Ili, Jarrod Kenny, Robert Loe, Reuben Te Rangi, Mika Vukona, Corey Webster, Tai Wynyard, Lindsay Tait.
