There were contrasting fortunes for a couple of All Black hopefuls as the Wellington rugby side made it two from two in the provincial Championship.

Cory Jane was influential as Wellington beat North Harbour 43-0 in their ITM Cup clash in Albany, the relegated visitors scoring six tries to record their second straight win in the Championship.

Jane, who is hoping to impress the All Black selectors a week out from the naming of the World Cup squad, showed all his skills in the 51 minutes he played at fullback.

He kicked well and played a part in all three of Wellington's first half tries.

Unfortunately another All Black hopeful, lock Jeremy Thrush, went off after half an hour with an ankle injury.

Thrush appeared to twist his ankle as he fell heavily from a lineout.

He was later seen wearing a moon-boot.
