Tasman led 27-12 at half-time, scoring three tries to two, the last of which came after the half-time hooter.

The Makos fullback Robbie Malneek crossed for their fourth straight bonus-point try just after the break to put the visitors up 34-12, though they didn't score again.

Otago hit back with a converted try of their own to make it 34-17, but it was too little, too late from the Razorbacks, as Tasman made it four wins from four, and claimed maximum points.

Makos first five Marty Banks kicked six from seven attempts before he was substituted just after the three quarter mark in the game.
