Black Caps captain Brendon McCullum has joined the side in Australia, having flown in from London after giving evidence in the perjury trial of former international team-mate Chris Cairns.
The Black Caps began their three-Test tour with a day-nighter against the Australian Prime Minister's XI at Canberra's Manuka Oval on Friday night.
McCullum, along with BJ Watling and possibly Kane Williamson, sat out the match.
Coach Mike Hesson says McCullum's arrived in good spirits and will play in the side's two-day match over the weekend as they continue their preparation for the first Test in Brisbane in a couple of weeks.
Asked how disruptive the Cairns' case has been for McCullum and the side Hesson said: "We've known the timelines for a long time so we've put plans in place so that Brendon will be ready for Brisbane, so he's very much on track."

"He's great. He's really enjoyed being back with the group and keen to start hitting some balls and getting back into full training."
The opening tour match was played with a pink ball, as the Black Caps continue to try and get used to the new ball which will be used in the third Test in Adelaide.
That match will be the first day-night Test in cricket history.
