New Zealand expect pace bowler Trent Boult to overcome a back injury and play in the third Test against Australia tomorrow.
Skipper Brendon McCullum says Boult has recovered well from yesterday's bowling session but he will have another session on Thursday night before a decision is made on whether he will play.
McCullum expects Boult to play but says there are likely to be changes to the playing eleven from the drawn second test in Perth last week.
Boult started the three-Test series underdone and was in doubt for the final Test against Australia in Adelaide starting tomorrow due to a back injury.
However, the left-armer showed few signs of discomfort while bowling eight overs at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.
Five of those overs were at "full intensity" according to New Zealand coach Mike Hesson.
Provided the swing specialist pulls up well he's likely to play the historic clash under lights with the pink ball.
"Today was never a definative day, today was just the next step really, so he got through today and I felt he got better as the day went on" said Hesson.
"It's more about how he scrubs up tomorrow and then if we consider him."
Both sides are considering two spinners for the day-night Test.
Hesson says he is unsure of who will be in his starting XI, refusing to rule out the prospect of a pair of tweakers.
"Obviously over the five days the pitch will deteriorate at a slightly different rate," he said.
"We need to acknowledge that and see whether two spinners are an option. So with Mitch Satner and Neil Wagner, they'll both be seriously considered."
