Ko takes the lead at the NZ Open

Lydia Ko has finished round two of the New Zealand Open on top of the leaderboard after shooting a five under par 67 at the Clearwater Golf Club in Christchurch.

The 18-year-old world No.1 is in outright first place at eight under, one shot clear of Justine Dreher of France.

Ko made six birdies and one bogey in her round.

Fellow New Zealand golfer Liv Cheng is in a tie for sixth at five under.

Yesterday's leader Nicole Larsen shot a one over 73 to sit and five under.

New Zealander Alanna Campbell remains in the hunt to take out the low amateur of the tournament title, she's three under for the tournametn just two shots back from South Korea's Hye Jin Choi.
