The New Zealand tennis player Marina Erakovic has won her opening singles match at the Rio Open in Brazil, but it took her just over three hours to do it.
Erakovic beat Spain's Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor in three sets in three hours and one minute.
The Aucklander entered the tournament ranked 143 and now faces 162nd ranked Petra Martic from Croatia in the second round.
Erakovic has also made it through to the second round of the doubles.
Meanwhile fellow New Zealander Michael Venus and his Croatian partner Mate Pavic have won their first round match at the Marseille ATP event.
The second seeds beat the experienced pair of Lukas Dloughy (Czech Republic) and Sergiy Stakhovsky (Ukraine).
