That follows the West Indies' narrow three-run win at Mohali which ended hosts India's disappointing campaign.

England will face Australia in their semi, after beating Pakistan by 68 runs at Chennai.

The White Ferns, like their male counterparts the Black Caps, have roared into the playoffs on the back of four straight victories in pool play.

New Zealand, seeking their first title after being runners-up twice, have the highest run-scorer of the World T20 in their captain Suzie Bates.

The skipper said she was confident from the start of the tournament that her team could make the semi-finals.

"We had a very good series against Australia which we won 2-1," she said. "The balance of the side was good, so I knew we would go far if we played good cricket."

Bates said the team's approach would not change heading into the semis.

"Our approach in the semi-final will be the same... It has worked so far, there is no need to change that. I am happy the way the group is playing and everyone is happy to contribute to that."
