Australian star dropped for mens World Cup

Updated at 7:31 am on 9 February 2010

The Australian mens hockey selectors have overlooked one of their great players for the World Cup, starting late this month in New Delhi.

A shocked and dismayed Brent Livermore, who's four games away from breaking the Australian record of 321 internationals, claims he's been hard done by, and is pondering his future, having planned to be around until the 2012 Olympics in London.

Australia are the favourites to win the tournament, following their triumph in the Champions Trophy and they'll play two tests against New Zealand in Perth before both teams leave for India.
