The Blitzbokke scored twice in the first-half when only Kurt Baker could cross the line for All Blacks Sevens, giving South Africa a 12-7 half time lead.

A deadlock developed in the second-half which New Zealand threatened to break in stoppage time, before their captain, Liam Messam, gave away a penalty five metres short of the line for not releasing the ball.

The result means South Africa will move ahead of the All Black Sevens into second place in the series standings.

The Blitzbokke will meet the series leaders Fiji in the cup semi-finals in Singapore while New Zealand take on Australia in the semi-finals of the second tier plate.
