The New Zealand under 20 rugby team have crushed Georgia 55-0 in their opening match at the under 20 World Championships in England.

The Baby Blacks scored nine tries in Salford, with wingers Jonah Lowe and Caleb Makene bagging a brace each.

All Black Beauden Barrett's younger brother Jordie kicked four conversions from second-five.

New Zealand next play Ireland in Manchester at half past midnight (NZ time) on Saturday night/Sunday morning.

New Zealand's final pool game is against Wales in Salford next Thursday morning (NZ time).
