Johnson and Landry at top of US Open leaderboard

The American golfer Dustin Johnson ended a marathon second day at the weather-disrupted US Open with the clubhouse lead, carding a one-under-par 69 shortly before second-round play was suspended for the day.

Johnson, who was a runner-up in last year's US Open, sits at four under par for the tournament at the Oakmont Country Club in Pittsburgh.

Also at four-under was surprise first round leader Andrew Landry, a PGA Tour rookie who will only start the second round after the year's second major championship was knocked off schedule by multiple thunderstorms on the opening day.

New Zealand's Danny Lee will also start his second round - he remains at one under par tied for seventh, three shots off the lead.

But a horror second round has fellow New Zealander Tim Wilkinson set to miss the cut.

Wilkinson completed a one over par first round but fired four bogeys and a triple bogey in round two to be six over par, with the cut set to be five over.
