New Zealand cyclist Shane Archbold is out of the Tour de France after fracturing his pelvis in a heavy crash.

The Bora-Argon team rider went down on a fast descent of this morning's 17th stage, with fellow New Zealander Greg Henderson, who is also on the Tour, claiming Archbold was going 70km/hr when he hit the deck.
Incredibly Archbold managed to get back on his bike and finish the stage.
Russian Ilnur Zakarin won the stage with Britain's Chris Froome retaining the overall leaders yellow jersey.
