New Zealand secures series whitewash

6:16 pm on 19 February 2010

The New Zealand cricketers have secured a whitewash against Bangladesh in all forms of the game after winning the one-off test match in Hamilton by 121 runs.

The visitors went into the final day on 88 for 5 in their second innings chasing an unlikely 404 for victory, and gave the Blackcaps a real fright scoring at a impressive speed with captain Shakib Al Hasan scoring maiden test century off just 129 balls.

However once Shakib fell for 100 to Tim Southee the Blackcaps bowlers quickly mopped up the Bangladesh tail to give New Zealand the win and complete their dominance over the tourists in 20/20, one day and test cricket.
