The Chiefs have completed a two win Super 14 rugby tour of South Africa with a remarkable 72-65 win over the Lions in Johannesburg.
Last year's runnersup ran in three tries before half-time when they led 27-25.
Six more followed in about 20 minutes after the break before the defence began to wilt, the Lions getting close enough to claim a second bonus point for finishing within seven points.
Richard Kahui scored three tries and Stephen Donald finished with a man of the match 36 points from a try, nine conversions and three penalities.
But the Chiefs' discipline let them down with captain Sioane Lauaki sin-binned early in the first half and Kahui late in the second for dangerous tackles.

And they were reduced to 13 men briefly in the first half when hooker Aled De Malmanche received a yellow card for deliberately collapsing the maul .
