The Australian fast bowler Brett Lee is reportedly set to announce his retirement from Test cricket in an effort to prolong his limited-overs career.

The 33-year-old has not played a Test for Australia in more than a year and struggled with injuries throughout 2009.

Australian media is reporting that a discussion with England's retired Test cricketer Andrew Flintoff convinced Lee to end his five-day career.

Lee played 76 Test matches for Australia and is fourth on the country's all-time wicket-takers list with 310.

His last appearance in the Test arena was in the Boxing Day clash against South Africa in 2008.
