Oz cricketers could boycott IPL

Australian cricketers could boycott next month's Indian Premier League if their security demands for the Twenty20 tournament aren't met.

Player groups from around the world are putting together a list of concerns for the Federation of International Cricketers' Associations to hand to IPL organisers following a direct threat on the tournament from an Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group.

After a meeting of players and managers in Sydney yesterday, the head of the Australian Cricketers' Association Paul Marsh said his players' involvement in the tournament is no certainty.

The Australian players would be open to the tournament being shifted to South Africa for the second consecutive time.

Meanwhile the Australia fast bowler Brett Lee is expected to confirm this morning his retirement from test cricket.
