Purvis earns Ferns call up for fourth test

The Silver Ferns have made one change to their squad for the fourth and final netball Test against Australia in Invercargill tomorrow night, with defender Storm Purvis making it into the team of 12.

Purvis, who plays her domestic netball for the Invercargill-based Southern Steel, replaces shooter Ameliaranne Ekenasio in the game-day team, with Maia Wilson again missing selection.

Ekenasio has earned 12 caps for New Zealand since her debut against Australia two years ago.

But a combination of illness and family bereavement has meant the 25-year-old goal attack will be replaced by

Purvis has never played against Australia and has earned her only two caps during New Zealand's recent series against Jamaica.

The Ferns are aiming to level the Constellation Cup series 2-2 tomorrow, though after two 12-goal losses to the Diamonds they'll need to beat Australia by an unlikely 22 goals to win the Cup.
