The New Zealand men's rugby sevens side has gone through pool play unbeaten at the Cape Town leg of the World Series.

The All Black Sevens beat Argentina 26-12, but then drew with Canada 19-all before rounding out pool play with an impressive 33-7 win over England to finish top of the group.

They'll play Kenya in the quarter-finals.

Co-coach Scott Waldrom says they were disappointed with their performance against Canada.

"We got up 12 points and let them right back into it with a bit of ill-discipline so I'm actually stoked that the guys got up against England and played the way I know they can."

"While you don't win Championships on day one, if we can play like that again on day two I'll be pretty happy."

After finishing eighth in the opening round in Dubai last weekend, Waldrom feels they can do better in Cape Town.

"Absolutely, we didn't have a lot of time to build-up to Dubai and so some game experience last weekend was huge for us and the boys are pretty excited for it and if they keep playing like this then they can take anyone."

In the other quarter-finals Fiji play England, South Africa play Wales and Scotland play the USA.
