White says ramp shot too much for him

11:12 am on 2 March 2010

The Australian cricketer Cameron White might be in the form of his life in Twenty20 Internationals but even he isn't brave enough to try Brendon McCullum's bizarre "ramp" shot.

McCullum smashed 116 not out on Sunday in Christchurch in the Black Caps' 214 for six before Australia replied with 214 for four, including White's stunning 64 not out from 26 balls.

New Zealand won in the extra-time "super over" though.

McCullum's innings featured an array of amazing "ramp" shots where he squatted and scooped deliveries back over the wicketkeeper Brad Haddin's head.

But White says he's much too scared to try the shot.

He says it takes a lot of courage, especially against a bowler of Shaun Tait's pace.
