ICC still waiting on Down Under candidate

11:24 am on 2 March 2010

There's been a delay with the announcement of who will represent this part of the World in the crucial role of International Cricket Council vice-president.

The announcement was expected yesterday but the Australian and New Zealand Cricket Boards have been at loggerheads for weeks over who should get the job - the former Australian Prime Minister John Howard or the former NZ Cricket Board Chairman Sir John Anderson.

Cricket Australian spokesman Peter Young said the two boards had agreed on a "process" to nominate a candidate, and he hopes to make an announcement today.

The successful candidate would become ICC vice president in June, then take over the presidency in 2012.
