Sock will today play compatriot and seventh seed Steve Johnson for a place in the title match.

The pair, who combined for a bronze medal at last year's Rio Olympics together, both had three set wins in their quarter-final fixtures.

Johnson beat fellow American, second seed and two time Auckland winner, John Isner 6-3, 5-7, 7-6 while Sock came from a set behind to beat Frenchman Chardy 5-7, 6-4, 6-3.

In today's other singles semi-final, crowd favourite, eighth seeded Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis, will square off against Portugal's Joao Sousa.

Meanwhile two New Zealanders will feature in today's doubles semi-finals.

Artem Sitak has made it alongside his American partner Nicholas Monroe following their three set quarter final victory, while Marcus Daniell and his Brazillian partner Marcelo Demoliner won in straight sets in their quarter-final in last night's late match.
