The Olympic silver medalist Nick Willis has finished third in the 1500 metres at the Melbourne Track Classic, coming in behind two Australian runners.

Willis recorded a time of 3'43". Olympic champion Asbel Kiprop of Kenya was checked early in the race and never fully recovered to finish 4th.

World and Olympic champion Valerie Vili again threw over 20 metres to win the Shot Put. She'll defend her World Indoor title in Doha next week.

Adrian Blincoe was third in the men's 5000 metres, Stuart Farquhar was second in the Javelin and Anna Smythe was third in the women's 100 metre sprint.

The standout international performance of the night at Olympic Park came from Kenyan David Rudisha, who ran the fastest-ever 800 metres on Australian soil.
