The prospect of captain Dan Vettori playing in the second one day cricket international against Australia tomorrow appears slim, after he failed to get through a net session today.
Vettori was a late a witdrawal from the first one dayer in Napier after aggravating a neck problem and he was replaced by Scott Styris.
Vettori's not giving up hope though and says he'll leave the decision as to whether he plays in Auckland, till as late as possible.
If Vettori doesn't play, off spinner Nathan McCullum will come into the playing eleven.
