Stewart or Styris to take place of Taylor if star batsman can't play

The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori says either Shanan Stewart or veteran Blackcap Scott Styris will take the place of Ross Taylor, if the batsman is ruled out of tomorrow's crucial third one-dayer against Australia.

Taylor gave a man-of-the-match performance in the opening game of the Chappell-Hadlee series in Napier, scoring 70 in New Zealand's two-wicket win.

However he pulled out of the second game in Auckland on Saturday with a hamstring injury.

The uncapped batsman Shanan Stewart is on standby for the Black Caps and joined the squad in their training session this morning.

Vettori says if Taylor is ruled out either Stewart or veteran Scott Styris will take his place in the starting 11.
