5:42 pm on 9 March 2010

The New Zealand cricketers have failed to set Australia a big target in the third match of their best of five one day series --- they've been dismissed for 245 in the 47th over in Hamilton.

Ross Taylor made 62 and Scott Styris 41 before he was also caught in the outfield.

The only other significant innings came from Gareth Hopkins with 45 as the Black Caps failed to make the most of the batting powerplay.

Ricky Ponting's surprise decision to bowl after winning the toss paid off quickly when Peter Ingram was out for five at the end of the first over.

Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill followed for 23 and 21 beforeTaylor and Neil Broom added 71 for the fourth wicket.

The series is tied 1-all after the Black Caps won in Napier and lost in Auckland.
