Daniel enjoys success in Dallas Challenger tournament

New Zealand tennis player Marcus Daniell has won the doubles title at the Irving Challenger tournament in Dallas.

Daniell,who is ranked 43 in the world in doubles combined with Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner to defeat top seeds Olivier Marach of Austria and Frenchman Fabrice Martin in straights sets, 6-3 6-4.

It's likely Daniell will see his ranking improve beyond his current high and possibly above New Zealand team mate Michael Venus who is ranked 40th.

Daniell will now wait to see if he and Demoliner make the draw of the Miami Masters starting later this week.

After that tournament Daniell will play in the Wellington Open in the lead up to next month's Davis Cup tie against Korea in Auckland.
