The Sharks coach John Plumtree has added his weight to the criticism of Australian referee Paul Marks, saying the official's decisions cost his team victory in their Super 14 match against the New South Wales Waratahs at the weekend.
New Zealander Plumtree has told the Sharks website that those "big decisions" were responsible for his team's fourth defeat in four games this season.
Sanzar referees officials are discussing the performance of their referees this week and Marks is one of a couple of whistleblowers who will get plenty of attention.
The referees have taken a stronger handle on the interpretation of some laws this season with the criticism of most coaches and players being that they want consistency.
