The Black Caps will need another great batting performance from their skipper, Kane Williamson, if they are to put any pressure on South Africa in the third and final Test in Hamilton that continues today.
Williamson is unbeaten on 148 with the Black Caps 321 for four in their first innings, a lead of seven runs with two days to play.
Yesterday Williamson equalled Martin Crowe's record, which has stood for 22 years, of 17 test centuries for New Zealand.

It was his second century of the test series, having hit 130 against the Proteas in the first drawn test in Dunedin two weeks ago.
The legendary Crowe, considered one of the best New Zealand batsmen of all time, smacked 17 test centuries between 1982 and 1995, with a high score of 299.
Williamson also passed 5000 test runs during his innings, becoming the fastest New Zealander to the mark in his 110th innings.
Only five other New Zealand players have scored more than 5000 test runs.
Williamson will return to the wicket with Mitchell Santner who is on 13.
Some showers are forecast for Hamilton later today.
