Gilchrist confident about IPL security

The lucrative Indian Premier League cricket tournament gets underway tonight when the Deccan Chargers host the Kolkata Knight Riders, but security is still causing some concerns.

Security measures have been put in place for the eight twenty20 teams after terrorism threats last month, but some issues over team travel are still to be addressed.

The Deccan Chargers captain Adam Gilchrist says while time will tell whether the security is at the level it should be, with what he's seen so far he's confident the IPL will run smoothly.

Shane Bond is expected to be the first New Zealander to join the IPL tournament next week.
