Central Districts retain a chance of catching cricket's Plunket Shield leaders Northern Districts after a seven wicket victory over Wellington in Napier .
Central resumed on 172 for two, needing 228, .Peter Ingram and Jamie Howe top scoring with 59 and 58.
With two games to go they're on 32 points, six clear of Otago, who've been beaten by 168 runs in Queenstown, chasing 435 to beat Canterbury.
Northern Districts have 44 points after completing a 10 wicket win yesterday over bottom placed Auckland.
