Team New Zealand has recovered from its first loss at the Louis Vuitton Trophy regatta being sailed on the Waitamata harbour to beat the Russian yacht Synergy by one minute.
The leaders have now won six races after yesterday's loss to the previously winless Aleph team from France.
They were ahead at the start but Russians led by 50 metres early in the race before Dean Barker and his crew regained the lead and gradually extended it.
Organisers are trying to get through two flights of matches today after only one race was completed yesterday before the wind got too strong.
