Team New Zealand has finished top qualifier in the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland regatta with a six win, one loss record in the round robin after finishing with a one minute win over Russia's Synergy.
With seven races to run to catch up on the three lost yesterday because of high winds, Team New Zealand's was delayed by a soft and shifty breeze.
After the wind picked up Italy's Azzura beat Aleph of France, Sweden's Artemis beat the German and French crewed All4One, and Mascalzone Latio pipped Britain's Team Origin by five seconds.
The first of two elimination rounds before the semi finals and the first to four points final will pit the the top team from the round robin against the eighth, the second against the seventh and so on.
