Manly's star fullback Brett Stewart will be sidelined for up to five months of the National Rugby league season after damaging his left knee when making a try-saving tackle on the Wests Tigers winger Lote Tuqiri.
Stewart suffered the same injury to his right knee last season was was out from round five until round 25.
Manly's chief executive Graham Lowe says Stewart wants to be over the operation by round 20 and he's good at setting himself goals.
