Roger Federer has suffered a shock loss in the third round of the Indian Wells tennis tournament in California, beaten in three sets by Marcos Baghdatis.
The 24 year old Cypriot, the 27th seed, upset the world number one 5-7 7-5 7-6 for the greatest win of his career, and his first in 7 matches against the Swiss master.
Baghdatis was beaten by Federer in four sets in a memorable 2006 Australian Open final.
It was Federer's first event since winning the Australian Open in January.
Andy Roddick and Andy Murray are both through to the fourth round.
