Interest in Clarke's private life comes with the job

Updated at 8:26 am on 18 March 2010

The Australian batsman Michael Clarke says he understands the intense media and public interest in his private life and dealing with it is just part of his job.

Clarke has rejoined the Australian side for the test series against New Zealand after rushing back to Sydney last week to sort out his relationship with his fiancee Lara Bingle which is now over.

Clarke says while he never realised his personal life would generate quite so much interest, having to deal with it just comes with the territory.

Michael Clarke says he believes he made the right decision to leave the one day series to sort out his personal issues, and is now focussed on the upcoming test series.
