The team's flight from Dunedin Airport on Friday night was cancelled due to high winds, and roads between Dunedin and Christchurch were flooded.

A state of emergency has been declared in Timaru, Dunedin and Christchurch.

THe Crusaders have confirmed the game will go ahead as normal at AMI Stadium at 7.35pm.

Wild weather across the South Island had delayed the Highlanders' arrival in Christchurch, but they had safely landed in the city.

Christchurch City Council is asking motorists to take extra precautions around flooded areas and to take their time in getting to the game.
