The long serving and long suffering Grant was buoyed by the Pulse's success this year after they made the play-offs for the first time in their 10-year history.

Grant has recently moved from Wellington to Rotorua with her partner but says making a break with the Pulse would have been difficult.

"The Magic are obviously closer but they've got a settled lineup there and at my age (30) you don't really know if you want to leave and set up shop somewhere else fresh.

"I also like to be loyal and I am getting towards the end of my career and it would be great to play out that at a franchise you have been with for a while," said Grant.

Grant dismissed any possibility of following the likes of former Silver Fern teamate Leanna de Bruin who at the age of 40 has recenly signed with the Adelaide Thunderbirds for 2018.

"I certainly don't think I will be going that long. I still have a few years left ...but I didn't even think about playing in Australia. That just wasn't an option at all. I want to play for New Zealand, especially with the Commonwealth Games and world champs coming up, they are the pinnacle for most netballers...so Australia never entered my mind at all."
