The French rugby team have wrapped up their first Six Nations Grand Slam in six years, weathering an England storm to run out 12-10 winners at the Stade de France in Paris.

Three Morgan Parra penalties and a Francois Trinh-Duc drop-goal were sufficient for a France team that had already seen off Italy 46-20, Wales 26-20, Ireland 33-10 and Scotland 18-9.

Earlier Scotland upset Ireland 23-20 at Croke Park in Dublin to hand France the title and avoid the wooden spoon.

Ireland finished second while England are third.

Wales beat Italy 33-10 in Cardiff to seal fourth place. Italy are bottom.
