Team New Zealand is turning its attention to Europe with improved funding after winning the Auckland regatta in the Louis Vuitton Trophy series.
The team has been employing most of its staff on a regatta-by-regatta basis for the last couple of years but has secured an injection of funds from sponsors and private backers.
The managing director Grant Dalton says as it looks ahead to defending its TP52 title in Europe, and contesting further Louis Vuitton rounds - the extra money is a big step forward.
Team New Zealand's next regatta will be the start of the Medcup TP52 series in Portugal during May.
