Divided opinions about playing new teenage batsman

Opinions are divided about the wisdom of playing the 19 year old Northern Districts batsman Kane Williamson in the second cricket test against Australia this weekend.

The only new name announced yesterday in the Black Caps squad of 13, Williamson has a Plunket Shield average of more than a 100 this season, but Martin Crowe and Dipak Patel are among those concerned about promoting the Northern Districts teenager too soon.

On the other hand, his Northern Districts coach Grant Bradburn has every faith in Williamson, saying he's been selected on outstanding form, he plays fast bowling very well, and he'd be playing on his home ground.
