Tough times ahead for teenager against Australia

The Australian batsman Simon Katich says Kane Williamson will face a torrid start to his New Zealand career if the 19-year-old batsman is selected for Saturday's second Test in Hamilton.

Katich, who normally fields at short leg, says the Aussies won't be taking it easy on Williamson if he gets the nod from the Black Caps at Seddon Park.

He says the Australian fast bowlers will ask Williamson a lot of questions but he says the only close-in fieldsman who isn't " tame and quiet" is the skipper Ricky Ponting when he's on the off side.

Meanwhile Williamson, who counts Ponting and vice-captain Michael Clarke among his idols, says he's "stoked" just to be in the squad and excited at the chance to play.
