Auckland Rugby League court injunction halts NZRL AGM

6:55 am on 27 March 2010

A court injunction has been obtained by Auckland Rugby League stopping the national body's AGM on Saturday.

The grounds for the injunction relate to the establishment of the Northern zone under the New Zealand Rugby League's planned new zonal structure.

In a statement the NZRL says it will analyse the judgement once it receives it but the AGM can't go ahead.

However the NZRL says the decision won't stop it implementing the reforms to the game which were approved at last year's AGM and it will negotiate with the Auckland Rugby League, over the issues it's raised.
