Men's pursuiters miss out on gold, aim for bronze

A puncture couldn't stop the New Zealand men's pursuit team in the ride-off for the bronze medal at the world track cycling championships in Copenhagen.

Team member Jesse Sergeant of Feilding was forced to pull out but the remaining trio still beat Denmark to claim a third medal for New Zealand at the championships - Sergeant's second.

Australia upset defending world champions Great Britain for the gold medal.

In the kilo time trial, Southland 21-year-old Eddie Dawkins finished fifth.

The youngest rider in the field, Dawkins also bettered his New Zealand record in the ride,clocked 1:01.372
