Batting first the New Zealanders were rolled for just 143, losing their last six wickets for just nine runs.

Despite a top order slump the hosts chased down the victory target with more than 25 overs to spare.

Captain Henry Nicholls was the top scorer for New Zealand with 35 runs.

There were three ducks in the New Zealand innings, with the Indian spinner Karn Sharma claiming a five wicket haul.

India A lead the five match series 1-nil, with game four at the same venue tomorrow.
