Cooper at a loss to turn around Hurricanes season

6:44 pm on 30 March 2010

The Hurricanes rugby coach Colin Cooper admits he's almost exhausted all his options as he tries to get the side out of a 4-match losing streak.

Lose to the Crusaders on Friday night in Wellington and it will all but kill off their Super 14 play-off hopes.

There was a sense of frustration at Hurricanes training today with the coach saying changes in approach are needed if they're to start winning.

Cooper, who's stepping down at the end of the season says he's tried everything he can think of from threatening them to cajoling them in an effort to turn things around.

There are unlikely to be many changes when Cooper names his side tomorrow, although wing Hosea Gear could return to the reserves bench after recoving from knee surgery.
