Lack of control Manchester United's undoing says Fergusson

Manchester United paid the price for failing to control possession in their 2-1 defeat by Bayern Munich in football's Champions League, but the tie is still open, says coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

Bayern clinched the win in the dying seconds of the first leg quarter-final in Munich, after Wayne Rooney scored for United two minutes into the match.

Rooney suffered an ankle injury late in the game and Fergusson says they'll learn tomorrow the extent of the injury although he doubts its serious.

United, play English premier league title rivals Chelsea at the weekend but Fergusson's unsure if Rooney will be available.

Fergusson says the most disappointing aspect of the game was the lack of control shown by his side as it's something they pride themselves on.
