The Northern Mystics' unbeaten start to the ANZ Netball Championship has come to a halt, with the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic prevailing 55 to 46 in Auckland.
The North-Island derby pitted new Mystics recruits Joline Henry and Maria Tutaia against their former franchise, but it was the visitors who went ahead early and pulled away in the final quarter to reaffirm their status as the top New Zealand franchise.
Irene Van Dyk missed just one of her 35 shots at goal for the Magic but Tutaia had an unhappy night, shooting just 15 from 23 attempts.
