The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori's Delhi Daredevils have beaten Ross Taylor's Bangalore Royal Challengers by 37 runs in their Indian Premier League Twenty20 match in Delhi.

Vettori took one wicket for 40 after his side made 184 for five with England's Paul Collingwood hitting 75 from 46 balls.

Taylor was given out lbw for 22 - off just 10 balls - by New Zealand umpire Billy Bowden, after the Black Caps star looked like taking the game back for Bangalore with back to back sixes.

South African Jacques Kallis's 54 from 42 was the best the visitors could manage in their 147 for nine off their 20 overs.

Delhi are now second ahead of Bangalore, two points behind the leading Mumbai Indians who have a game in hand.

In Kolkata, New Zealand paceman Shane Bond couldn't swing things for his Knight Riders as they lost to the bottom-placed Kings XI Punjab by eight wickets.

Bond took one for 32.
