Another tough season lies ahead for the Wellington based Central Pulse, after they suffered their third straight loss in netball's trans-Tasman competition, losing 56-44 to the Southern Steel in Dunedin last night.

The Pulse have finished last in the previous two seasons.

The win moves the Steel into third place in the competition, the leading New Zealand team, and shooter Daneka Wipiiti says it was a timely win after last round's narrow nice to win again.

The Melbourne Vixens, who beat the Perth based West Coast Fever 64-40 last night top the table, with the New South Wales Swifts, the only other unbeaten side, in second spot.
